Spring update

(May 18 3:23 p.m.)

Between sunny days and rainy days.

(May 21 3:23 p.m.)

It has gotten pretty green out there.  Compare to nearly two weeks ago:

“Porch plant” forming leaves. (May 10 1:53 p.m.)
(May 2 3:58 p.m.)

It also got a bit purple in the sky.

(May 3 5:03 p.m.)

So let’s start from the turn of May, and observe the progression from there.

(May 5 1:06 p.m.)
A difference of two days. (May 7 3:04 p.m.)
(May 8 1:19 p.m.)
Difference of four days. (May 12 3:02 p.m.)

Immature leaves of different plants.

(May 12 2:59 p.m.)
(May 8 1:23 p.m.)

The difference two days can make…

(May 10 2:05 p.m.)

This plant in particular can grow leaves that fast!

(May 16 3:54 p.m.)

Yes, that’s the same one, only six days later.

Not-quite violets. (May 12 3:04 p.m.)
Purplish-white flowers. (May 12 3:05 p.m.)

Just about everything’s bloomed.

(May 15 3:00 p.m.)

Even the pines are developing.

(May 15 3:02 p.m.)

And to make it clear that winter is long gone, what was left of the snow officially left on April 26, thanks to rain.

Crescent Beach park. (May 15 2:11 p.m.)
(May 15 1:54 p.m.)
(May 16 5:46 p.m.)

Now, those wood chips couldn’t have possibly been made by the carpenter ants… right?  The chips have been there for quite some time, actually.

(May 17 2:28 p.m.)

We were visited last week by some chickens.  That is, before they were called home by… a goose.  And by home, I mean: across the street.  Our neighbors to the west have apparently raised chickens, and those birds were briefly on our northern neighbor’s lawn and in our driveway, scratching ground.

Number four. (May 17 8:16 a.m.)

Well, that’s it for now.  I need some rest.  Have a good day, dear reader.

Until next time…

(May 21 7:05 p.m.)

The rose plant’s now taller than the visible glass of the window!
