Ice, snow and fog. You’ve kind of seen it all before.
However, it’s not often that ice covers everything.
And the trees dip, and branch fragments fall.
And dead leaves are sandwiched in between it all.
Christmas seasonal lighting colors the fog.
At least the ice has cleared up considerably.
‘Cause it was bad.
The icicles were long enough that you had to duck when exiting the house. And then, last month as temperatures rose, they’d all evaporated. And with all the melting, there have been days when water could be seen flowing by the side of the road.
The melting revealed yet more leaves.
The fog may lift and the ice may melt, but the snow— ha. The snow takes “forever” to leave.
In fact, we got 6 to 8 more inches the other night as measured by the yard stick.
And that’s on top of everything else.
Early January’s dump of the white stuff left some 10.5″ inches in under 48 hours. There was only some light flurries and an inch before Wednesday’s half-foot. But at least the power hasn’t gone out. And the latest brand new season of The X Files is on.
Among sort-of natural changes this season: this potted plant in the entrance hall is yellowing and shedding.
The photographs on the fifth floor gallery at USM Portland have been taken down. All of them.
…No idea what was in this… or will be?
In other things, I made it to group last Saturday, after missing two months in a row. My mother’s so well into retirement that she may not read her own calendar.
It was suggested in 2017 by a friend that I get on the bike again. I have no place to put one, though. My old one is in the basement… with everything else… because no one here knows how to recycle any of it.
There really isn’t much to say about group. Apart from reading Trivial Pursuit cards, the topic was: what are your current goals? Sorry to be Debbie Downer, but I’m so disconnected from everything, I don’t know what future I can have let alone want.
As for anything short term I’m not too interested in the Olympics. Nor Valentine’s Day, for obvious reasons. … I slept through National Pizza Day.
God, I’m lifeless.
Well, that’s it for now. It’s been slow going assembling any posts with photos lately because I’ve no broadband (besides the library) and had doubts… until I found there’s no issue uploading. (Or relatively no issues since it’s WordPress.) So I’ll be posting more regularly again. (When I have something to write or cover, that is.)
Until next time…
