Welcome to Friday Fictioneers, hosted by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields. This week’s prompt photo is from Doug over at ironwoodwind.
Yeah, yeah, late again…
“It’s a fish!” little Hailey exclaimed.
A smile hit me. I swear she acts cute to make me smile. I lifted her up into my arms. “Plesiosaur,” I said.
She looked back at the sculpture. “A dinosaur?”
“Reptile. But during the time of the dinosaurs.”
I swirled the ice in my drink. Today, Hailey called me a dinosaur. Why, yes, I still use an old record player. At least, coming from her, it sounds like a term of endearment…
Day four without power, a particularly bored Hailey began to enjoy reading my ancient hardcovers. Now, what does that make her?
The goal for Friday Fictioneers is to write a story, beginning-middle-end, in at most 100 words, based on the prompt photo. You are also encouraged to “think outside of the box.”
